Setting Sail with Stories: I'm Now Available as a Cruise Enrichment Speaker

For more than forty years I have had the privilege of speaking to audiences across the UK and around the world. I've spoken in conference halls, universities, care homes, television studios, boardrooms and community centres. Now I'm delighted to announce that I am also starting out as a cruise enrichment speaker.

One of the pleasures of travel is having time to discover something new. Whether crossing the North Sea, exploring the Norwegian fjords or enjoying a Mediterranean voyage, many passengers appreciate the opportunity to hear engaging talks that are informative, entertaining and thought provoking.

My talks are designed for a general audience. You do not need a background in healthcare or science. Instead, I aim to tell great stories, explain fascinating ideas in plain English and leave people with something interesting to think about over dinner.

Topics include:

  • Can We Stay Younger for Longer?

  • The Amazing Human Brain

  • Remarkable People I've Met During a Lifetime in Nursing

  • Medical Myths That Refuse to Die

  • Dementia: Separating Fact from Fiction

  • How Healthcare Has Changed in a Lifetime

As a former university professor, registered nurse, bestselling author and BBC contributor, I have spent decades translating complex ideas into talks that are accessible, lively and enjoyable. I believe learning should never be dull, and I encourage plenty of audience participation and questions.

Every voyage is different, so I am happy to tailor presentations to suit the interests of passengers and the itinerary. Talks can be delivered individually or as a series across a cruise.

If you are a cruise line, enrichment programme organiser or speaker bureau looking for an experienced, professional and engaging guest speaker, I would be delighted to hear from you.

Travelling is about discovering new places, but it is also about discovering new ideas. I look forward to sharing both with audiences at sea.
