Young Carers Action Day

A shocking 40% of young carers say they never or don’t often get help from school, college or university to balance their caring role with education work. In a survey one said, “There’s a lot of pressure on me, to the detriment of my own health, wellbeing, success, happiness and future.” I volunteer for my local carer’s organisation, Carers of West Lothian @CarersWL. We know that time spent caring for over half of young carers has increased in the last year and their worries are increasing. The cost of fuel is not helping. Not to mention the cost of food. Please do what you can to help, and if you don’t know what might help, contact The Carers Trust who can tell you all about your local services where you live and work. Children deserve better. If you don’t know where your local young carers are, check out this website for contacts. www.carers.org.
